Changes in Administrative Fees for Work Passes Application

From 1 April 2013, the Ministry of Manpower (MOM) will be raising the administrative fees for certain work passes. This move aims to recover the additional cost of processing higher-end work passes with such processes becoming more complicated. Previous fees were borne by Employers who use work pass services but still did not match the actual cost of providing such services. With the upcoming revision, this brings the fees closer to full cost recovery and allow the cost of such public services to be borne by the users rather than taxpayers in general.
